The new Netflix original movie gives a different perspective of the Bundy Trials

Previously I wrote an article on The Ted Bundy Tapes, and the docuseries was nothing short of amazing. So, you can imagine how excited I felt when heartthrob Zac Efron was starring in a Netflix Original film about Ted Bundy. The new Netflix Original movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, gave viewers a different perspective of the Bundy Trials. It gives you the perspective of Ted Bundy while all of this commotion is going on around him. Throughout the movie, you kind of feel sorry for Bundy because he just continues to plead not guilty, but in the end you find out the real truth.

This film takes you through the lives of Ted Bundy (Zac Efron) and Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins). It will show you the ups and downs in Elizabeth’s life, and how Bundy destroyed her over time. While on the other hand, you will see how Ted Bundy dealt with his time in prison and how he managed to escape so many times. Netflix also brings in the character Tina Kloepfer, Elizabeth’s daughter. Including Tina, shows the audience what Bundy’s relationship was with young girls and how he and Liz had created a family.

The one thing about this movie that stood out to me the most was the cast selection. They used characters from everyone’s favorite movies and TV shows and put them all together in a murder trial movie. Zac Efron, who played Ted Bundy, was such an amazing character for this role. There was a lot of controversy over who was going to play the murderer, but Zac Efron definitely does the role justice. Having Zac Efron play the role of Ted Bundy is very good choice for the character because during the time of the Bundy murder trials, women and girls across the globe fell in love with his handsome looks. Efron has been featured in movies like High School Musical and 17 Again. Liz Kloepfer is played by Golden Globe Nominee Lily Collins. Collins stars in Mirror Mirror, The Blind Side, and the TV show To The Bone.

The title of this movie explains it perfectly: Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Showing all sides of the Ted Bundy Murder trials, really gives this movie so much emotion. I would recommend this movie to ages 13 and up due to cruel language and inappropriate scenes.
