Kyle Obly

Senior Kyle Obly is a second year journalism student. Sports are his life. He plays football and baseball. In football, Kyle plays wide receiver, safety, and kicks. In baseball, he plays the outfield. Kyle is a triplet with two sisters, Jodi and Carly. He also has a dog named Hayden. Kyle has written for multiple sport media outlets in the past covering the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians. He hopes to pursue a career in sports journalism/broadcasting in college. Kyle also enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends and family in his free time.

Shayla Sellers

Shayla Sellers is a senior at Aurora High School. She is a first year School Newspaper student. She is planning on playing basketball at Purdue Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has played varsity basketball for the school for 4 years and is a first year golf player. Shayla plays the point guard and small forward. She plays for Score More Athletic Club, also known as SMAC on a U17 team.  Shayla is interested in being a physical therapist. for her career in her future. She has three sisters, Sydney, Syarra and Shyanne. She loves hanging out with her friends and watching Netflix, especially Criminal Minds. Her favorite subject in school is science, no matter what kind. Lastly, she tends to sleeps a lot and likes to nap in her free time.

Taylor Burick

Senior Taylor Burick is a first year journalism student. Taylor has been a 4 year varsity athlete for both track and soccer, however she is not looking to pursue her athletic career in college. On the soccer field she is a forward for the Lady Greenmen. While on the track she is a part of the 4x100 relay. Off the field and track Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends and family. As for the future, while attending college she is looking to pursue a career in nursing. Taylor is very excited to start applying to schools in the fall.

Katie Stover

Katie Stover is a junior and is taking her first year of journalism. Katie participates on the cheerleading squad and she was previously a diver for the High Schools Swimming and Diving team. She enjoys tumbling and hanging out with her friends in her free time. Katie is the youngest with two older sisters, Abbey and Rachel. She also has two dogs named Winston and Lucy. Her favorite subject in school is English and she would like to pursue a teaching career when she gets out of college.

Allie Martin

Junior Allie Martin is taking her first year of journalism. She is a cheerleader and joined the Greenmen in eighth grade. In her free time, she takes tumbling classes and spends time with her friends and family. Allie has one younger sister, Addison, who is ten years old. She has lived in 3 different countries and is fluent in Spanish. She hopes to be living somewhere warm in the future and pursuing a career where she is able to travel and use her language skills to communicate and her favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip!

Brianna Foster

Brianna Foster is a Sophomore. Her favorite words in the English language are Vellichor (n) the strange wistfulness of used bookshops, Luminescence (n) light products by chemical, electrical, or physiological means and Eloquence (n) the art of using language in an apt, fluent way. Jazz and New Orleans brass has a certain place in her heart. In her free time, you'll find her looking for a new song to love for a week and checking up on her horoscope, Aries, even though she doesn't believe in it. She'll pick reading a book over watching Friends re-runs any day, especially if the book is good enough to make her laugh or cry. It's her first year for writing for the school newspaper and she's excited for what the rest of the year holds for her.

Morgan Copley

Morgan Copley is a senior and first year journalism student. She enjoys playing volleyball for both the high school, and at The Academy of Volleyball in Cleveland on a National level team. Morgan has a fairly large family that consists of her parents and three brothers Mason, Mitchell and Matthew. She also has two dogs named Tucker and Ellie. She loves to travel and spend time with her friends. After high school Morgan plans to continue her academic and athletic career at Kent State University next fall.

Caitlin Groh is a senior taking her first year of journalism. Friends and family are what make up her life. Caitlin spends her days hanging out with friends, working, volunteering, or helping out her family. After high school, Caitlin is looking into becoming a FBI Agent, at the University of John Jay. She loves to go visit her family in New Jersey whenever she can, and spend time with friends.

Julia Robinson

Julia Robinson is a senior and a first year Journalism student. She enjoys spending her time playing volleyball on the high school team, hanging out with her family and friends, listening to music, and reading a good book. Julia has two siblings, an older sister, Annie, and an older brother James, currently attending OSU. Although, her favorite family member is her dog, Colby. After graduation Julia hopes to pursue a degree in business at a four year college, but would also like to explore the world and what it has to offer.

Angelina Picone

Angelina Picone is a junior and this is her first year in Journalism. She is a soccer player and participates in Interact, Euchre club, and Student Council. She is also a part of the Yearbook staff. In her free time, she can be found playing with her dog, watching Netflix, or reading a book. Angelina has four siblings: Lisa, Payton, Natalie, and Donovan. As seen in her photo, her favorite food is kettle corn.

Macy Buehner

While she may not have everything figured out yet, Macy Buehner, your not-so-average Junior, is determined to make the most out of her life. For the majority of her life, Macy has always been interested in the arts including listening to her favorite music, painting, drawing, and creative writing. She aspires to not be famous but to be successful and live life to her full potential. With optimism in her heart, Macy has no fear of trying new things and living new experiences. Despite it being her first year in journalism, Macy will break any barriers to keep her articles creative and innovative. Overall, Macy is a determined, energized, and kind-hearted.

Claire Schiopota

Claire Schiopota is a junior who stays involved in many clubs and extracurriculars. As a swimmer, flag, soccer official, lifeguard, Playhouse Square usher, and youth member at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Twinsburg, she continues to be busy throughout the year. Although Claire’s not sure what she would like to study in college or what college to go to, she enjoys her classes from art to math class. She and fellow writer, Katelyn Vargo, happened to be engulfed in a five-month-long text string of Vine quotes. Claire likes almost every kind of movie, music and food, and considers herself to be the least picky person you’ll meet. She loves to hang out with her friends and hopes to continue making new friends this year as well!

Katelyn Vargo

Katelyn Vargo is a junior in her first year of journalism. She is a member of the Flag Line, Interact, Student Council, and volunteers at Playhouse Square. Even though school keeps her busy, she loves reading, spending time with friends and family, watching Netflix, and cheering on the Cavs. She constantly references The Office and Hamilton, and has a slight obsession with the British royal family. She and fellow writer, Claire Schiopota, once happened to be engulfed in a five-month-long text string of Vine quotes. Katelyn is a very optimistic person, and tries to live life according to the wise words of Dwight K. Schrute: “I am ready to face any challenges that might be foolish enough to face me”.

Alexis Torer

Senior Alexis Torer reads, writes, and lives fiction. If spotted outside of a library, she will probably be wearing headphones, listening to alternative and indie music. She believes the rabbits and squirrels in her backyard should count as pets, she loves animals that much. Politics gives her a headache but Alexis is going to study political science in college anyway because, yes, it is possible to make a difference in the government. Maybe she will write articles about politics one day, hence, why she is in journalism.

Jack Arnold

Jack Arnold is a senior and this is his first year as a journalism student. He participates in sports such as Football where he plays fullback and linebacker. While also playing Basketball where he plays small forward. Jack has four brothers, Thomas, Bobby, Joe, and Quinn, also a goldendoodle named Henry. He has hopes of pursuing a career as a chiropractor and is excited to start applying to colleges. He spends time with his friends and family in his free time and enjoys watching movies.

Katie Fisher

Katie Fisher is a senior, new student, and first year Journalism student at Aurora. She enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with her new puppy, eating, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Katie has one older sister Sammie, who recently graduated from Ohio University. After graduation Katie also hopes to attend Ohio University and double major in marketing and fashion merchandising.
