Game of Thrones prequel
There’s been a lot of speculation about the prequel to “Game of Thrones” but here’s what’s known so far.
Taking place thousands of years before the events of “Game of Thrones”, the series will be about the world descending from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the truly terrifying secrets of Westeros history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the legendary Starks, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.
Although there is hope for this prequel the president of the show gave some insight of his own. The new series won't be on our screens until at least 2020. That's because Casey Bloys, HBO's president of programming, wants, "The final season of Game of Thrones to be the final season of Game of Thrones."
He told Hollywood Deadline in January, "I don’t want to use it to launch something else, I want it to stand as the finale of the greatest tv show of all time, I don’t want to do anything that infringes on that.”
If a prequel does come out the new casting includes: Miranda Richardson (Rita Skeeter from the Harry Potter films), Marquis Rodriguez (Manifest), John Simm (Strangers), Richard McCabe (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams), John Heffernan (Dracula), and Dixie Egerickx (Summerland).
Currently “Game of Thrones” is airing their last and final season to the series. It can be seen on the HBO channel at 9 pm every Sunday. There are a total of 8 seasons now and so far the GOT series has a huge fan base. Thousands of people watch and have fallen in love with the characters, so how could this be the end?
Rumors about the prequel have been going around but chances are looking pretty high to this magical and dangerous world continuing. I personally watch the show and could not see it coming to an end for good. After season 8 I would be very shocked if the producers stopped making the show all together.
Basically this means the fans are going to have to wait a while to see if anything like a spin off will be released.
