Dwyane Wade officially retires
After 15 years of being one of the best shooting guards in NBA history, and after a long season of goodbyes, titled “The Farewell Tour”, Dwyane Wade has officially retired from the National Basketball Association.
Although the Miami Heat was knocked out of playoff contention, Wade finished his career in typical D-Wade fashion with a triple double: 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in 35 minutes. Despite a 113-94 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, Wade gave fans a game to remember him by.
Throughout the season, after every game, Wade would find a player from the other team and swap jerseys with them, a sign of respect and a legendary momento for the other player.
Over his iconic career Wade averaged 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists and is the 10th-highest-scoring NBA player in total career playoff points scored with 3,954. Dwyane Wade also accumulated 3 NBA championship titles in 2002, 2012, and 2013 over his 15 year career.
Before his last game, his son, Zaire Wade, recreated his father’s old ‘From Robbins, Illinois’ commercial. Here’s the link for a side by side of the two commercials. https://www.facebook.com/SportsCenter/videos/d-wadezaire-wade-commercial-mash-up/2103407933075474/
Coming as a surprise to Wade, he was emotional and shed a few tears with his son before his final game, giving him even more of a special send off.
