At quick look at some of Ohio's colleges
Many Seniors have already selected universities they plan to attend in the fall, but what about Juniors? College visits will be a huge part of their lives this spring and summer so here’s a peek at four very different Ohio colleges!
Ohio Northern University
This small college can be found in Ada, Ohio, which is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Yet, it is reasonably close to Lima, Ohio. It only has about 2,000 students, but it has a 95% employment rate which is pretty good. Most students there seem to be a part of a sport or greek life as it’s an important part of their campus life and the “tundra” is a great meeting place for students with its expansive green plain. It’s a cute college where people at Aurora might feel they fit perfectly with it’s particular style.
Ohio University
This much larger college has about 23,000 students and is definitely known for its parties. The town of Athens has become a college town for the most part and the campus is huge. It’s very beautiful with its red bricks and white columns; the campus green is a great meeting place for many of the students as well. Academics may not be the biggest part for all students, but they do have an Honors Tutorial program for those who do wish for an extensive education. All in all, the college is a great fit for many, many students.
University of Dayton
This college is slightly smaller than OU with about 9,000 students, but blows OU out of the water with it’s impressive presentation before their college tour. Those who attend the college have a lot of school spirit and there are many things which makes this campus stand out to others. With their student made company and student community called the Neighborhood, it’s very different from other universities. With over 271 clubs and organizations, Dayton is a great choice for many students.
Denison University
My personal favorite, Denison University is a very small school with about 2,000 students, but in the cute, historical town of Granville, Ohio. Built on a hill, the buildings range from new to old facilities; the Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts is going to be a brand new building as of 2019. It’s only about 30 minutes into the city of Columbus, but the small, adorable town of Granville can be found at the bottom of the hill. Overall, it’s a great fit for many people.
With so many options, students of Aurora will have a hard time so just picking one and all of these colleges are in the running. This is just a small sample of the tons of colleges throughout Ohio.
