Quick Pitch continues to evolve baseball media

Quick Pitch is a show put on by MLB Network which is centered around showing highlights of baseball games from the previous night. Quick Pitch airs on MLB Network during the MLB regular season at 1 A.M. ET every weeknight and 8 P.M. every Sunday. Reruns of the show run all throughout the next morning to allow fans to catch up on all of the day’s previous action and highlights. It is very similar to ESPN’s SportsCenter.

MLB Network, which is owned by Major League Baseball, launched on January 1, 2009 and has since been the home for baseball entertainment and news on television. The studios are in Secaucus, New Jersey. Over 70% of cable customers in the United States have access to the network.

There are 180 episodes of Quick Pitch - each season with a run time of 60 minutes per episode. The show started on April 6, 2009 which the inaugural season of the network. SInce then, the show has featured many hosts. In 2013, Heidi Watney became the full-time host of the show and still serves that role to this day. In 2015, the show moved from Studio 3 to the newly renovated Studio 21.

Quick Pitch is a very effective show for baseball fans everywhere as you are able to catch up on a full day’s worth of action of all thirty teams in a short hour. This makes keeping up with Major League Baseball relatively easy for even the busiest of fans. The crew also does an exceptional job of previewing the next day’s matchups and possible headlines. The show is very fast paced so you never get bored or want to change the channel. It has been around since 2009 for obvious reasons.

Overall, I highly recommend Quick Pitch to any baseball fan looking to stay updated on all thirty teams without having to spend a large amount of their day studying the game. Instead, you can catch up on all of the action in a short hour as if you watched every single game. The fast pace of the show and unique set-up allows for it to be a fan favorite while also widening its audience week-by-week. I start almost every morning watching Quick Pitch and I recommend you do the same! MLB Network hit their version of SportsCenter out of the park!
