A must see on Netflix

Do you need a new movie to watch? Well, Netflix recently added a new movie called The Edge of Seventeen.

The movie, The Edge of Seventeen, was originally released in 2016, but was recently added to Netflix. This movie is rated R for profanity, sexual content, and teenage drinking.

The Edge of Seventeen is about how life for high school junior, Nadine who is at a peak of awkwardness when her perfect older brother Darian and her best friend Krista start dating. After discovering her brother’s and best friend’s relationship, Nadine starts to feel more alone than ever, out of nowhere she forms an unexpected friendship that provides her with a glimmer of hope that things just might not be so terrible after all.

The starring actress is Hailee Steinfeld. Hailee Steinfeld also stars in the movie Bumblebee and Pitch Perfect 2. Other actors that are in this movie are Haley Lu Richardson, Blake Jenner, Kyra Sedgwick, Woody Harrelson, and Hayden Szeto. Haley Lu Richardson is also in Split. Blake Jenner is also in Glee. Kyra Sedgwick is also in The Closer. Woody Harrelson is also in Zombieland. Additionally, Hayden Szeto is also in Truth or Dare.

The strengths of this movie is that it is able to captive the audience, allows the watchers to relate to the characters, and to get you wondering what will happen to her throughout the movie.

The weaknesses of this movie is that it is kinda cliche, because depending on the situation you are able to predict what will happen. Additionally, the movie is stereotypical about high schoolers.

The best audience for this movie is young high school teenagers specifically girls who like movies that can relate to, has romance, and can cause you to experience emotions like cry.

As you watch the movie, the viewer will be trying to hold back their tears of sadness or joy. Thus because the movie will hit you emotions and those emotions will be going up and down throughout the movie. As events unfold in Nadine’s life, the producers showed the audience that friendship and family will overcome any challenges.

All in all, I recommend the movie, The Edge of Seventeen, to any teenage high schooler, specifically girls, who enjoy movies that will make them experience emotions, romantic, and who want to see what family and friendships can overcome.
