Cyclebar: more than just a workout
Cyclebar is more than just a workout, it is an experience. Cyclebar, located in downtown Hudson about a 15 minute drive, and a free first ride. The class includes a theatre of bikes, flashing lights, and upbeat music and makes working out fun. Although it doesn't feel like it, Cyclebar is a great workout.
At first the class starts slow, warming up the body and finding your rhythm, then the class starts to pick up, turning up bike resistance feeling like you are racing up a hill, then slows down feeling as though you are flying down the other side.
Cyclebar also adds in an arm workout, providing bars to hold out in front of you while you are riding. For the competitive heart, Cyclebar also includes a section of your ride where you compete against other riders, pushing you to reach your highest speed and resistance. Simulating a bike course, Cyclebar challenges you, but also keeps you motivated.
Senior Brynn Sesny states, “The vibe was amazing. They make you feel like you’re a part of a family.”
In order to switch things up, Cyclebar also offers different classes. The classic class includes “a mix of strength, endurance, challenges, hills, and drills.” The performance class provides you with “Cyclestats technology, group challenges, and rider competitions.”
Senior Nicole Doemling says, “It’s a high energy and self competitive class to help you become a better you.”
Cycle bar also includes themed rides to keep classes new and entertaining.
Before and after class Cyclebar instructors provide riders with many amenities. Before riders are given riding shoes that lock into the bike, making class easier. Riders are also provided with a towel and water bottle during class, and healthy snacks after class.
Not only are classes fun, but Cyclebar is a philanthropic business creating a new organization called Cyclegiving, partnering with local organizations and charities to help them raise donations.
The business states, “This is a unique form of cause marketing that promotes health and wellness with a one-of-a-kind fitness experience to create successful fundraising events inside our studios.”
Overall if you are willing to try new things, and are up for a challenging, yet fun workout, Cyclebar is worth a try.
