Award winning chef Mike Mariola and wife Emily opened The City Square Steakhouse in the year of 2008, which has been recognized as a top 100 Steakhouse in the US. Quickly known for serving amazing steaks their popularity also began to grow for the local fresh burgers and Ohio beer served on the bar menu. In the year 2011, the fame from such burgers allowed Mariola to found The Rail.

The Akron location is the original location of The Rail; however, with booming success the restaurant has been able to spread like mentioned into 5 total locations. Such successes include Best Burger in Stark County (2018), People's Choice Award - Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2017) , Best in Show - Burger Wars (2017).

I can personally attest to such success of the restaurant’s abundant menu. There is a huge variety of burgers to choose from and if you cannot find one that has exactly what you please, they allow you to make your own. For non-burger lovers there are many salads, and other entree options along with the most amazing sides I have ever had. I would 100% recommend their homemade milkshakes as well, whether you have a sweet tooth or not these unique shakes will make your mouth water.

The Rail has a strong foundation that allows their menu to be so great. The Rail only gets all of its products locally here in Ohio along with the fact that all of their products are generally organic. All of their meats along with dairy comes from local Ohio farms. The farm to table aspect can really be noticed by the quality of all of the food on the menu.
