A must watch movie during Christmas break
Are you wondering what movie to watch during your Christmas break this year? Well, I would suggest watching Gremlins this year.
The movie Gremlins was released in 1984. It was re-released in 1985. And in 2015, the producers made premier cuts on the film to allow it to fit into the American culture today.
The actors of Gremlins are Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, and Howie Mandel. Zach Galligan also starred in Surviving and Waxwork. Phoebe Cates starred in Drop Dead Fred and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Also, Hoyt Axton starred in Forest Gump. The actor, Howie Mandel, is also in the T.V. show, Deal or No Deal.
Gremlins is about a boy who receives a new pet as a gift from his parents. However, this pet is not a normal pet. The pet has rules that the guardian needs to follow and if those rules are not followed it can unleash a horde of malevolently mischievous monsters on a small town.
Even though the movie is about monsters, the setting of the movie takes place during Christmas and the parents get the pet as a Christmas gift for their son.
Gremlins strengths are that it allows its viewers to know that no matter where you are in the world, everyone celebrates Christmas in their own way. Additionally, it allows their watchers to feel connected to the whole world and not just the part they are living in.
However, its weaknesses are that it is not completely revolved around Christmas and it has the traits of a scary movie.
If you like scary movies with a Christmas spirit than I would completely recommend watching Gremlins this winter break. Especially as you cuddle up in a cozy blanket next to a fire with your friends and family.
