Benefits of essential oils
Essential oils are often strictly seen as being used for aromatherapy; however, there are many purposes for them.
An article written by the Organixx company states, “These little bottles are packed with a myriad of potent phytochemicals (natural, plant-based compounds) that are powerful helpers − both for health improvement and also in and around the home.”
Peppermint oil is a great option for many purposes. If you place peppermint oil on both of your temples as well as the back of your neck it is an easy and natural home remedy for relieving migraines and stress.
Along with being great for migraines Organixx shares “Peppermint oil can relax muscles which in turn helps relieve pain. Dilute and rub into sore muscles and arthritic joints for some quick relief.”
Essential oils can also be used as a destressor to help you relax before you go to sleep. If you use the same scent and create a routine of using it before bed it will become a sensor for your body. Once you smell the essential oil it will trigger your brain into a relaxing mode.
One of the best scents for sleep is lavender. The Tuck website on advancing better sleep shares that “lavender calms the nervous system by lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and skin temperature – all processes which take place during the body’s natural transition to sleep. Lavender essential oil alleviates mild insomnia and reduces anxious thoughts by literally changing your brain waves to a more relaxing state.”
Senior Grace Tutkovics says, “Lavender is my go to scent when I’m trying to relax. I use the oil before I study or spray a scent before bed to help me relax.”
Organixx shares, “Put a drop or two of eucalyptus oil on a damp, cool washcloth and rub it along the sides of the patient’s body, the chest, back of the neck, and bottoms of the feet to help reduce a fever.”
Overall, there are many benefits to using essential oils in your daily life. There are many great health benefits and can be used as home remedies.
