Buti is the newest craze in the yoga community

The newest craze in the yoga community is not what you would expect. Buti (bo͞odē)Yoga is taking the yoga world by storm. The new craze is a modern version of yoga, changing the slow moves to dance, and adding upbeat music.

I decided to take on this class locally, driving down the road to Chagrin Yoga to attend their Buti Yoga class. The price of this class is a five dollar drop in for college and high school students, fifteen dollars for an adult drop in, and offers mat rental for an extra two dollars. This class is also only for female participants. Buti class in Chagrin is everyday except Sundays and Tuesdays at 4:15 or 4:45.

Buti Yoga is a hard workout, starting slow but quickly building up to fast pace cardio, abs, legs, and arms. Although Buti is a great full body workout, when participating you have fun with the girls around you and feel empowered and confident, becoming more than just a workout class.

At the end of the Buti class there is also a cool down session that ends with a different positive message, making you feel good about your workout and ending with a feeling of empowerment, feeling as though you can take on the rest of the day successfully.

Senior, Nicole Doemling states, “Yoga like you have never seen before, a fun upbeat place where you connect with your inner self. Buti class is more than just a yoga class, it’s a place to gain confidence while feeling empowered by the women around you.”

Many other Aurora High School classmates have also participated in the class, making the class a time to not only better your health, but also to have fun with your friends.

Senior, and avid Buti yoga attendee Maddy Wolkov states, “The perfect way to get in a hard, sweaty workout while still having fun, listening to good music, and gaining confidence in yourself.”

In the beginning Buti yoga might be challenging, it may be best to start with Buti yoga beginner classes offered once a month at Chagrin yoga, but the more you go the easier it becomes.

Katie Fisher states, “As someone who does not usually like yoga class, I was apprehensive to attend my first Buti Yoga class, but when I started I absolutely loved it, getting in a sweaty workout, pushing myself to keep up with the class and having fun all at the same time.”

Located in Chagrin, Buti yoga is a fun way to get in a full body workout while also having a positive message, feeling confident in yourself, and having a good time with your friends. I recommend the class to students due to the cheap price and usually young participants. Overall, Buti yoga is a great alternative to the gym, giving you just as hard a workout, without feeling like you are doing as much work.
