Students give feedback on best subway sandwiches

No one loves talking about food more than teenagers. The perfect snack for lunch or before a sports game or even for an after school snack has to be sub sandwiches. However, the hardest choice is to decide where to get your delicious sub from. When asking students which restaurants they preferred based on best bread, deal, quality, fastest to prepare, meat and cheese, and lastly menu variety, you’d be surprised by the variety of answers students gave.

There is nothing worse than getting a sub sandwich and the bread is either too hard to bite into or it is too soggy that it is unenjoyable. Then you can get bread that is warm, fresh and easy to bite in to, which makes it memorable. From the choices of Subway, Dave’s Cosmic Subs, Jersey Mike’s, Jimmy Johns, Penn Station, and DiBella’s, students of AHS have voted that the best bread comes from Subway. On asking 60 students on which restaurant has the best bread, 32.8% said they preferred the bread from Subway and coming in second place is Jimmy Johns with 25.9%

“Subway is either a hit or miss kind of bread. Some days it is very good and other days they could definitely do better,” said Senior Jack Arnold.

Another factor people take into account for deciding which sub sandwich restaurant to go to is where you can save the most money and get a great deal. People are always looking for deals, especially adults with big families. A small snack for a large family can turn into the cost of a full dinner meal. When asking the students which restaurant they would prefer now, specifically focusing on the deals they can get, 69% voted that Subway again is the best way to go. Second place again going to Jimmy Johns with 19%.

Another element one may look at when looking for a place to get a sandwich, and probably the most important element is the quality of the sandwich. This factor when asked to the students was very diverse and varied from student to student. However, with a bit of a twist, Dave’s Cosmic Subs came in first place in which 29.3 percent of the students voted for. Subway coming in second place with 24.1 percent students voting for it.

Menu variety is another great factor to look for any kind of restaurant, and also great for sub restaurants. The fact that a customer can change their order every time they go to the restaurant, helps the customer remember the restaurant. 53.3 percent of the students voted that subway has the best menu variety and with Dave’s Cosmic Subs coming second with 25 percent. From the BLT to the Meatball Sub to the Chicken Bacon Ranch sub from Subway gives a variety of tastes that satisfy many customers.

“Dave’s subs are very tasty, especially when they are toasted. My favorite sub is the pizza sub. They also have really good cookies and unique cream soda in glass bottles,” Senior Julia Robinson explains about Dave’s Cosmic Subs.

Lastly, the final component may look at it the how fast the restaurant can prepare the subs. No on likes waiting for their food for a long time, especially when they are very hungry. So this can come in play when deciding which place to choose as well. In this voting Subway blew every other restaurants out of the water, 65.5 percent of the students voting for it. Jimmy Johns coming in second with only 24.1 percent.

With Subway coming in first in most of the factors, it can be said that Subway is the favor in the best sub sandwich restaurant and continues to deliver people happiness. From the breading to the best deal to the quality to the menu variety and lastly how fast they can prepare your food can impact where one decides to get a sub. Subway is the powerhouse of sub sandwiches and will continue to be if they stick focusing on these components.
