Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet!

Aurora has many great places to trick or treat but which place is the best? Halloween is the one night where you can eat as much junk food as you want but there’s no point in staying out in the freezing cold for candy that isn’t even good. King Size candy bars and boxes are the best items you can come home with on Halloween but there are many other factors that are important when deciding where to trick or treat.

In my opinion, Barrington is the best neighborhood to trick or treat in if you are looking for the best candy. I sent out a survey to students asking to vote for the best neighborhood to trick or treat. The options were Barrington, Hawthorn, Woodview, Cascades, Wellington, Four Seasons, and Walden. According to a survey sent out, 54% of students in the school say that Barrington is the best place to go on Halloween. Majority of the students voted to trick or treat in Barrington because many people pass out large bars!

Junior Lauren Tremmel made a very good point in her response. She was 1 out of 5 students to vote Hawthorn as the best neighborhood to trick or treat in, “Hawthorn has sidewalks so it is safe and just about every house has good candy.”

Tremmel’s response sounds similar to something a parent would say to their child therefore I think sidewalks are an important factor for trick or treating. As it is very dark at night in the fall and busy out on Halloween, trick or treating in a safe neighborhood is crucial.

Although I will not be trick or treating this year, I do not think that there is an age where kids need to stop. At the high school, 20% of the students will be trick or treating this year and 33% said that they might but are still unsure.

Students say that some of their favorites candies to see when they open their treat bags are Reese's, Kit Kats, and Skittles.

“Kit Kats are my favorite candy and Twix are a close second” says Sophomore Bri Foster.

Whether you trick or treat, or pass out candy, I’m sure you will get to eat some delicious sweets!
