Yearbook is a course option, the students work together to construct the yearbook over the year. It is a long process that requires a lot of work and dedication to the class and the school. They are responsible for making the decision of what goes into the yearbook, using their free time outside of school to take pictures, and ensuring that there are a wide variety of people and events.

Wiemken, teacher of the year book class, says “the most important aspect is teamwork or else the book wouldn’t come together - it takes a village for the book to be finished.”

Member of yearbook Grace Tutkovics says “We decide what goes in the yearbook by thinking about all the important things that happened throughout the year and make sure to take pictures of these events in order to capture them.”

There are a large amount of activities, dances, and events that go on during school. They capture each of these events in a different way but make sure they fit the same theme. With the abundance of pictures they take they have to decide the best way to organize and decide what goes into the yearbook.

Senior Lexi Price says “You have to be very organized as a class to make sure the book maintains the same theme in the entire book. It’s hard with so many different minds and ways to be creative to all stay on the same page”

It can be a challenge to stay organized, on time, and in check with everyone else working on it. One way the class goes about taking on the book is working on your own pages and then checking each others work to ensure there are no mistakes.

Along with the hard work that goes into the creation of the yearbook, there are also a lot of fun aspects. It is a great way to get involved in school and work alongside your peers. You get to be creative and make artistic decisions.

Tutkovics favorite part of yearbook is “Favorite part is when you see your pages printed in proofs and even the book, it's kinda cool to see your own page in a yearbook.”
