Hard Knocks continues to impress viewers
Hard Knocks is a reality television show aired annually on HBO for five weeks. The show airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. and takes viewers inside the life of an NFL organization during the most exciting time of the year. The production crew shows the ins-and-outs of an NFL Training Camp including meetings, position battles, cuts, family life, and more.
Hard Knocks, in its thirteenth year, is following the Cleveland Browns for 2018. The cameras have caught many powerful moments so far including head coach Hue Jackson finding out about the passing of his mother and brother, Jarvis Landry’s speech to the wide receivers, and former Brown Corey Coleman requesting a trade after finding out he is not starting. Many other moments have been covered including the Antonio Callaway citation, tension between the coaches, and fights during practice. Games two through four of the preseason will be covered in the remaining episodes as well as player cuts and the return of Josh Gordon.
Hue Jackson is the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He is a centerpiece of the series following a 1-31 start to his tenure in Cleveland. Other centerpieces include wide receiver Jarvis Landry and number one overall pick Baker Mayfield. Hard Knocks always features the struggles of rookies in training camp and this year it includes the likes of Mayfield, Brogan Roback, Denzel Ward, C.J. Board, and more. DE Carl Nassib has made funny cameos in both episodes so far serving a the defensive lines financial advisor. Offensive and Defensive coordinators Todd Haley and Gregg Williams both are showcased throughout the series as they make personnel decisions and scream around the practice field.
There simply are so many strengths with Hard Knocks. The NFL and HBO have deemed Hard Knocks “the first sports-based reality series” as there is not another show like it available anywhere. The only drawback is that you must have an HBO subscription in order to watch the series. HBO GO costs $14.99 per month. The show alone is worth the price and your subscription can be cancelled at anytime.
Overall, Hard Knocks is one-of-a-kind. The NFL and HBO have knocked it out of the park since 2001 and show no signs of slowing down. I highly recommend Hard Knocks to anyone looking for an entertaining series as there is not another show like it while it allows viewers to see what life is like for every NFL player. The single drawback of the $14.99 HBO subscription should not be enough to stop you from experiencing the thrills of Hard Knocks.
