Have you ever wanted to change the world? Even if you are not alive? As a viewer watching F1Partisan’s channel on twitch.tv (www.twitch.tv/f1partisan) you are a spirit in the campaign world of Farusgrim and can influence the living. It’s like watching any other fantasy world like Westeros in Game of Thrones or Middle-Earth in Lord of the Rings, except this is live action roleplay and as a viewer/spirits you can cast spells on the people playing and vote in polls to decide what happens.
Farusgrim is a frigid and feral world, faris is a latin word meaning wild and grim is...well grim. Farusgrim is always cold, the question is just HOW cold. Currently we are in the deep winter, so cold some people strip down and surrender to it. Farusgrim is also plagued with the undead, they wander north and kill any living that crosses their path. However, like I mentioned previously, we are in the deep winter and it’s so cold most of the undead are frozen.
Throughout the week F1Partisan does a variety of streams for all levels of gamers to explore the world of Farusgrim. On Monday evenings around 9pm F1Partisan does a stream solely for the viewers. Together they make a character and go on adventures. Recently they created a character called Lorelei, and she just fought some undead on one of her adventures. On Tuesday evenings around 9pm F1Partisan does a dungeon master’s guide. This stream is ever changing, one moment you are making an isometric map, another you are crafting a dice tower. The whole point is to help people get creative and have more fun playing Dungeons and Dragons. On Thursday evenings between 8pm-1am F1Partisan streams a choose your own adventure. I like to think of Thursday as an average Thursday in Farisgrim, there are always wild stories occurring and now the viewers get to influence the stories. With the use of tarot cards, dice, and online polls the viewers and F1Partisan create the folklore of Farusgrim, better known as Grimlore. On Saturday evenings between 6:30pm-11:30pm F1Partisan streams his campaign sessions. Viewers can watch the party roleplay and go on adventures, and also help the party by casting spells, or help decide what to do with online polls. One party member, Pagan, claims to hear the spirits speak to him in his mind…(but really he reads the chat).
I love seeing all the streams influence and improve each other. On Tuesdays, the map of Farusgrim may be improved or added to, an isometric of the next encounter (that will take place on Saturday or Monday) could be made and sometimes he makes something to improve the gaming experience like the dice tower. The Thursday streams really add depth to the world of Farusgrim, now there are stories of the past that create adventures for today. One Thursday stream told the story of a book, and now the party members in the Saturday stream want to find it.
The main benefit to watching all of the streams is the experience points, every 10 minutes you get 10 experience points and subscribers get double. You can use these points to purchase things in F1Partisan’s store. This is how you can cast spells on the party, or even give party members experience points to help them level up!
The best part of being a viewer/spirit is the other viewers/spirits. I always watch for experience points before I play on the Saturday stream, and recently another viewer gifted a subscription to me! The generosity of your fellow viewers in the chat room never ceases to amaze me. No matter how experienced you are with Dungeons and Dragons, you will be welcomed. Do not worry about being new and not understanding what’s happening, between other viewers and F1Partisan himself, you get caught up easily.
