Justice League Movie Was Disappointing at the Least
As an avid viewer of both Marvel and DC Comics, it seems that DC is trying a little too hard to copy Marvel’s style. With the newest DC release, Justice League, it is rather evident.
Marvel’s movies are typically much more successful due to their witty, charismatic nature - including both aggressive and explosive fight scenes, and one-liners keeping the audience engaged. The “young, innocent, goofy” boy stereotype for a youthful superhero was first found in Spider Man, a Marvel hero; But DC attempted the same type of character in The Flash.
Secondly, in the Avengers movies, the team-building, non-world-saving scenes are some of the best for the audience as it’s members love to watch how heroes would interface. Yet in Justice League these scenes were portrayed as the group disagreeing and arguing with each other, creating unnecessary conflict where there should have been bonding with the team.
Individual heroes like Wonder Woman and Aquaman proved interesting characters to watch develop, but the team coherence was very sub-par compared to its Marvel counterparts.
Ben Affleck portrays a darker, edgier Batman. His role in Justice League is almost laughable, as he is simply ineffective toward the team’s larger goal. Gal Gadot, However, portrays a hardworking and passionate leader, capable of defeating the greatest enemies.
DC should stick to the individual movies focusing on one hero, Marvel can take the team movies. It seems that is what they are both best at.
