Intentional Talk continues to impress the baseball world
Intentional Talk is an hour long (during the regular season) and a 30-minute-long talk show (during the offseason) shown live at 5:00 ET on MLB Network and aired at 4:00 ET on ESPN2. Hosts Chris Rose and Kevin Millar talk about the major events in baseball each day. The show is typically filmed from Studio 42 of the MLB Network facility in Secaucus, New Jersey. The show can also be found on location or from each individual’s own home, in a split-screen format.
Intentional Talk began in 2011 and has transformed vastly since then. Today, Chris Rose and Kevin Millar talk about each day’s events within the baseball world. The show typically features a special guest (a player, general manager, etc.) and the interview lasts for around ten minutes. They also feature multiple famous segments such as “Got HEEEEM”, “That was Awkward”, and “Ask Kevin”.
Kevin Millar was born on September 24, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. Millar was a stand-out baseball player his whole life and would choose to play college baseball at Lamar University. He would make his MLB debut on April 11, 1998 with the Florida Marlins. He also played for the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Toronto Blue Jays through 2009. After his playing career Millar immediately joined MLB Network as an analyst and host and still serves that role to this day.
Chris Rose was born on January 27, 1971 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Rose attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and served as the station manager at the student-run radio station, WMSR. The Ohio native received his big break when he became host of The Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox Sports Net in 2001. Rose joined MLB Network in April 2010. A year later, he would start co-hosting Intentional Talk with Kevin Millar and the rest is history. Rose also serves as an analyst at NFL Network.
Intentional Talk bring the baseball world a unique perspective on all news. Chris Rose offers the generic analyst view while Kevin Millar brings the always unique players perspective. The two have exceptional chemistry which keeps the show entertaining even on slow news days. They often score big-time interviews and always seem to get the most out of their guests.
There are not many negative regarding the show as MLB Network has done an exceptional job of allowing the show to evolve naturally. Viewers can tune in every day without having to worry about being bored with the content.
Overall, Intentional Talk allows its audience to have a unique perspective into the game of baseball that never seems to get old. Even on slower days, the duo always finds something to talk about. Interviews always feature some of the most popular faces in baseball while the co-hosts seem to get the genuine side of each individual. There is a reason that this is one of the most popular shows on television!
