Cheer for Allie Girman!
Sophomore Alison Girman has been cheering on and off for the past six years. She can be seen on the side lines of every football and basketball game smiling and cheering away with her teammates.
She first began cheering because her dance studio also offered a cheer class, AFYA. As soon as she started she loved it, “I love the girls and making up dances!” Girman states.
Girman continued, “I don’t do competitive cheer, mostly because of the fact that it’s competition. Cheer is too much fun for me to want to feel like I’m constantly in competition with another cheer squad.”
After AFYA for a few years Girman decided to try out for the high school team her freshman year of high school, and she made it. Girman added, “The high school team is unlike any I’ve been on. It’s been a new and exciting experience.”
While things haven’t been going so smoothly with the AHS cheer team recently with the news that, long time coach, Connie Wells is leaving next year Girman is confident that this set back won’t hold them back much. “It’s sad but I’m sure we will pull ourselves together to continue the successful cheer program!” explained Girman.
Girman concluded with, “I really hope I make it next year! Cheerleading is very fun!”
