You'll Float Too!

“You’ll float too! You’ll float too!” This iconic saying takes people back to the original book IT by Stephen King and the original film that was in theaters during the ‘90s. This year, 2017, this saying is used once again in the IT movie.

This thrilling story takes place in Derry, Maine in the year 1984. Derry is haunted by an evil monster that eats people, especially scared children. However, there are seven kids that fight IT. These kids, Beverly, Richie, Billy, Eddie, Stanley, Mike, and Ben, are the only kids that fight back against IT. Will these kids win this fight?

These seven kids are significant characters because of what they do and what they all have in common. All seven have been bullied and abused in some way. It’s why they call themselves the ‘Losers Club’.

IT, the monster, is typical known as a clown. IT strikes fear at the heart of its victims by using fear itself. IT eats his scarred victims in order to live.

Stephen King is known for his terrifying novels such as Cujo, Misery, and of course, IT. IT 2017 is based on the original book wrote by Stephen King. The difference between his book and the movie is that the book starts off when the seven kids are adults. The movie only covers the time when the kids are kids. It is still the same story just in different order.

The strengths of IT 2017 movie has is that it is the same story as the book. For example, this movie shows this iconic scene when Georgie meets the clown in the sewer when his boat is missing. Every Stephen King fan knows what happens to Georgie and, as expected, Georgie is killed by the clown. It is a strength because of how great it is and how this movie stays true to the story.

The audience should use their time and money on this movie for many clear reasons. One reason is that this movie is a great representation of the book IT. For those that have never read the book or saw the original film, IT 2017 is the one they need to see for its triller and tense story.
