Homecoming Music
We all know DJing homecoming can be a difficult task, it’s pretty tough to please everyone. However, in the years past, the majority of people have been far less than satisfied.
I decided to take matters into my hands and find out for myself what type of music or even what specific songs and artists would make students want to dance their souls away. The results were uncanny- ranging from rap to norwegian funk.
The trio of Seniors Trevor Sobol, Connor Brown, and Lucas Krupinski delved deep into their minds to choose some of their favorite music types: “Wild West Saloon Music, Hardcore Rap, Trap music, Lil Pump, Irish jigs, Scottish folk music, Norwegian Rock, but definitely no reggae.”
I highly doubt any DJ could account for the variety of music that our students crave. What they could predict was the Sophomores music taste. They concluded they would simply like to hear pop music, said Macy Buehner and Ellie Masters.
Another senior that had quite the input was Senior Brandon Hall, he added that he would like to hear the following: “Boys 2 Men, Destiny’s Child, Gangster’s Paradise, tribute to Tom Petty, Rick Astley, but absolutely no reggae, oh and Jack Johnson.”
The most highly requested song to be played is Young, Dumb, and Broke by Khalid, the second highest requested song was Come on Eileen.
Aurora DJ, whoever you may be, I wish you the best of luck. See you Saturday!
