Parking Lot Problems
Imagine you’re a senior at Aurora High School. You’ve made it to your final year of high school; despite it feeling like it would never end. And while being a senior doesn’t come with many privileges, the few that are available are appreciated. But then suddenly the things that make your final year of high school a little more tolerable start being taken away or used by others who haven’t really earned them.
And yes, that last sentence was pretty dramatic especially considering I’m talking about parking in the first two rows of the “Green Lot”, but honestly it’s pretty annoying to have waited four years to be able to park there just for Juniors and possibly Sophomores to fill up the spots first when there are many available elsewhere.
Look, if you’re pulling in at 7:35am and miraculously there is an open space in the front rows, then yeah take it. It’s not something to be late to class over. I’m talking about the occasions when there's 20 minutes before the bell rings and the senior spaces are already almost full with underclassmen.
Announcements have even been made over and over, but either people aren’t hearing them or they’re just ignoring them. Hopefully it is the first one.
As we move into our second month of this school year already I do see it happening less, so as we continue on the seniors will stay optimistic that people will eventually park where they are supposed to.
Maybe the administration could put signs out to help inform students of the parking lot guidelines.
In any case this is an easy problem to solve if people are willing to follow the rules - so just wait your turn.
