The Light Day? No. The Dark Knight.

Christopher Nolan did some of his best work with his masterpiece “Batman: The Dark Knight”(2008). This suspenseful, artistic expression of an incredible superhero represents both the darkness and the light that we all have within. The combination of an imaginative director, a gifted cast, and a dedicated staff was crucial in creating this timeless work of art.

In the sequel to Batman Begins, Batman (Christian Bale) is up against his greatest enemy, Joker (Heath Ledger) and his cohort (Aaron Eckhart) Two-Face. Batman is at odds with keeping Gotham’s crime low, with the assistance from Lt. Gordon (Gary Oldman) but when Joker is thrown into the mix along with Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) and Two-Face, his challenges arise.

The late Heath Ledger was legendary in his role as Joker. He was nominated for and won multiple Grammy’s for his performance. Unfortunately, his dedication to the role lead him to a “real-life” mental breakdown and he committed suicide before the film ever reached the big screen. His legacy will forever be remembered as the greatest actor to ever portray this difficult role.

The movie’s greatest strength was its cast. They allowed any viewer to feel completely and totally immersed in this fictional world and believe it the entire way. Christopher Nolan’s directing style was also noted by his imaginative camera angles and filmography techniques. The movie in fact had very few, if any, weaknesses.

Batman: The Dark Knight is completely and totally worth spending time and money on, it can be found on Amazon to buy, or select websites to stream. Superhero lovers and haters alike can all join together and respect the talent and dedication of the cast, and the intriguing storyline. The fast-paced plot develops into an intense story that one can not take his eyes off of.
