Your Guide to the 2015 Black Friday shopping
Black Friday is coming in two weeks and everyone is in need of some killer gifts for this holiday season. Whether you’re buying for your whole family, or just looking to save some money on a special something for yourself, here’s where to find those go-to Black Friday items.
For clothes and accessories, Macy’s is opening at 6pm on Thanksgiving with sales up to 75% off. They’ll also have barcodes scattered around the store that can be scanned with a phone to enter giveaways for gift cards and other prizes up to a million dollars. Doorbusters, their best deals, will be available at opening while supplies last.
Ryan Gavalier, senior, said, “I’m excited for Best Buy, they seem like they’ll have some good stuff.”
Best Buy has all the stock for tech gurus and are offering free shipping on all online orders from now until January 2nd. They’ve announced there will be special sales on their top 15 tech gifts which includes Bose headphones, FitBit watches, the Apple Watch, and several wireless speakers that connect to smartphones. Macbooks and tablets are also rumored to have good sales. Plus, tis the season for tv purchasing! Smart tvs are said to have the best deals of the store.
For all the videogames to play on that new tv you bought from Best Buy, GameStop has you covered. They’re offering several Xbox and PlayStation bundles with new games that can save you $50, as well as $30 off if you buy select games or buy one, get one free on the Assassin’s Creed game series. All their games will be marked down and pre-owned games can be bought for under $10 each with a buy two, get one free deal going on too. Pre-owned Xbox 360’s and PS3’s will be sold for only $80 that weekend as well. Plus if you’re a long term Netflix subscriber, if you buy a $60 Netflix gift card, they’ll give you a free $10 gift card to GameStop.
“I’ll have to go to GameStop for sure,” said Senior Juan Gil, “They’re gonna have some good deals.”
Not up for the crowds? Amazon launches it’s Black Friday Deals Week with lightning deals going on the entire month of November. Amazon Prime members will receive early access to over 30,000 different sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Not a prime member yet? You can get a 30 day free trial to prime and get those deals early without paying a cent. Some pre-announced deals are 30% off Blu-Ray players, 40% off thousands of toys for little brothers and sisters, and their list of 600 electronics and tech items.
“I’d rather stay home and hit up Amazon,” said Jordan Scripa, junior. “You have to get to those stores three hours early to get anything good.”
Kohl’s has the only deal on the popular hoverboards, offering them for $369.99 which saves you $130 total. They also have 30% off all video games, $50 off FitBit watches, and $110 off HDTVs.
There are sure to be more deals announced soon, so keep an eye out for Amazon’s upcoming releases as well as ads from Dick’s Sporting Goods and several major department stores.
