Burger's Transition from Greenman to Terrier

Back in May, a few coaches from Wofford College visited the school and discussed a scholarship offer with Josh Burger, now a senior. On October 12th, he shared the good news with the rest of the world through a Tweet that read, “Blessed to say that I will be continuing my educational and football career at Wofford College.“

Burger has been playing football for over a decade. Currently he plays offensive tackle and defensive tackle. Last year he was First team All CVC. This year he is Preseason First team All Ohio. And now he gets to continue his football career in college, which he is very ecstatic about for a variety of reasons. “I get a free education, I get to play football, and I get to be in South Carolina.”

He is also very happy about getting to play with Brandon Zamary again. “I’ll be able to play with Brandon for about 3 or 4 years.”

At the moment, he doesn’t really know much about the other players, but he looks forward to finding out more about what they’re like on and off the field. “I know a few kids in my recruiting class, but I've never seen them play”

Before he ventures into the world of college football however, there’s one goal he’d like to accomplish. “I'd like to win a state championship as a team.”

He has however already thought of a new goal he’d like to achieve for college football. “I'd like to play as a freshman, I think that'd be pretty cool because we open at Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) next year. But my goal is just to have fun and take it all in and cherish everything.”

He also knows what jersey number he’d like. “I hope I have 70 again.”

Finally, Josh had a few final words he wanted to share with everyone before we wrapped up our interview. He wanted to thank the ones who had stuck with him throughout his life. “Thank you to everyone who's been a part of it, my family, my friends, and especially my coaches and my football family.“
