Chipotle Mexican Grill is officially offering a food delivery service beginning this fall.

They have partnered up with Postmates which is a business who delivers goods locally.

Chipotle’s delivery service is offered in sixty-seven select cities. The delivery cost ranges from $4.99 to $7.99 per order, depending on distance.

Within the first weeks Chief Marketing Executive, Mark Crumpacker saw a 30% month-to-month growth since Chipotle delivery started.

The past few years there has been talk of Chipotle delivery but executives worried about the quality and sufficiency of the food. Chipotle decided to take a chance and move forward with food delivery.

Senior Emily Cymanski expressed her excitement for Chipotle delivery and is excited to order at home. Cymanski said, “It's a really good idea to deliver Chipotle because some people might want Chipotle, but do not want to leave their house to pick it up. This way the food will be delivered to your house without you ever having to leave your home.”

Many students are looking forward to the option to try new mexican combinations. Jacqueline Caputo, senior expressed her opinion on the topic. Caputo said, “I think it would give the customers more opportunities to try new things because you can get Chipotle basically whenever you want.”

Senior Katie McCoy talks about her apprehensiveness to buy Chipotle when she discovered the delivery charge. “It depends how expensive the delivery charge is. I'd be willing to pay the amount, but I would not get Chipotle delivered as regularly if the price was high,” said McCoy.

Caputo brought up an interesting point about tipping the delivery man. Caputo said, “I’d be willing to tip the delivery man depending on how far they traveled. For example, charging 50 cents per mile.”

Chipotle delivering will also attract college students located near the selected cities. They will have the advantage of ordering to their dorm and not having to go to the cafeteria to eat.
