Daredevil season three "dares" to go to new places

“Daredevil” season three was released on October 19, 2018 exclusively on Netflix. The third season of the Marvel television hit show brings back some of the best elements of the series. The dark, gritty, and thrilling drama keeps the viewer on the edge of his seat, waiting for the next episode. Daredevil is a subdivision of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but it is a high point for the industry in terms of streaming. It features a slew of intriguing characters, both returning and new.

After receiving a 9.0/10 rating from IGN (an American video game and entertainment media website), the third season of Daredevil ranks second in the Marvel Netflix shows, behind only its own second season. The season ranks so high due to its crazy good plot that keeps the watcher interested and invested in what happens to the characters. Of course there are going to be some insane plot twists that happen along the way, but they only make you want to keep on watching.

The third season brings back many returning characters along with some fresh faces. Charlie Cox returns as the titular character Matt Murdock (Daredevil), but this time with a whole new, darker attitude. He will face threats new and old, such the villainous Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) played by returning actor Vincent D'Onofrio and the new comer agent Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter played by Wilson Bethel. But there are also the good guys such as Foggy Nelson and Karen page, acted by Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll respectively. Also Jay Ali plays a new character: special agent Ray Nadeem, who will be sure to the leave the audience guessing.

The season starts off focusing on the rehabilitation of Matt Murdock after being caught under a falling building at the end of Marvel’s other Netflix series: The Defenders, but starts to focus on the the bigger picture and the impact Wilson Fisk has on the city and the series characters.

All in all the series is great, it is dark and gritty, but still throws in a few jokes here and there. But the intensity of the characters interactions is a high point of the show and is what keeps the series interesting. Daredevil is exclusively on Netflix and definitely worth the watch.
